Judy Atlas is an abstract artist. Her paintings, monotypes and collages are expressions of the patterns, shapes and movements found in nature and everyday life. Her work relates to places and landscapes, real and imagined, external and internal.
Atlas is a member of the City Gallery, at 994 State Street in New Haven, Connecticut. Since January, 2008 she has had 2 solo shows and has exhibited in many group shows at the City Gallery . A new solo show of paintings will open at the City Gallery on February 4, 2012. Her work has been included in many solo, group, invitational and juried shows in New England.
Atlas has been teaching watercolor painting and collage classes at the Creative Arts Workshop in New Haven since 1998.
